The Arco de Triunfo in Barcelona (Spain) was built for the World Expo of 1888. It was designed by Josep Vilaseca i Casanovas in the Estilo Mudéjar or Mudejar style, a mixture of Muslim and Christian aesthetics which you can only find in Spain.
An interesting fact about this 30 meter high triumphal arch is that it’s not a military monument. The decorative statues and friezes are about religion, agriculture, science, commerce and art. All the things that make up Spain.
The Arc de Triunfo is located at the crossing of Passeig de Lluís Companys and the Passeig de Sant Joan. > google.nl/maps
