This painting is named “Abstract Speed – The Car has Passed” (Velocità astratta – l’auto è passata). It used to be the right-side part of a triptych.

The artist Giacomo Balla (1871-1958) was a futurist from Italy. He thought that images of speed and machines are the perfect expressions of the modern age. In this painting you can see a white road, the green landscape under a blue sky and have the feeling a car just speed past.
