A SHELTER FOR THE LIVERPOOL RAIN

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThe St. George’s Hall is an amazing landmark with a great porch. It was built between 1841-1854 and is a nice piece of neo-classical architecture. The architects of this beautiful town hall were Harvey Lonsdale Elmes and Charles Robert Cockerell.

The central portico has Corinthian columns and the statue on the front steps is of Benjamin Disraeli, twice Prime Minister and writer, made by English sculptor Charles Bell Birch (1832-1893).

It makes a nice place to shelter from the English rain, don’t you think?
